The Changing Forest: Forest Ecology

Module Overview: Forest Ecology will emphasize the interrelationships in the forest ecosystem, including the influence of human action. Students will gain an understanding of the importance of forests in their daily lives, and how they can be involved in management decisions that affect forests. Students will learn the importance of using scientific information to make decisions on forest issues. The development of critical thinking skills is emphasized throughout the module. The module relates to the core disciplines of science, math, language arts and social studies. Teachers may use the module in its entirety, or choose individual lessons.
